Introducing...WizDog- Indoor Dog Potty
*The Simplest, Cleanest, Lowest-Cost Solution
WizDog is a new revolutionary housetraining system for dogs. Consisting of a durable plastic pan and fitted grate, liquid waste dispenses through the grate onto newspaper or pee pad, separated from your dog's paws - No more wet paw tracks throughout your house! Solid waste stays on top of the grate, so you never have to touch it. Just flip the grate, and it's gone. That's it!
WizDog consists of an industrial grade polyethylene plastic tray and a fitted honeycomb grate. The WizDog measures 21" X 28" with an elimination space of 15.5" X 23.5" and was specifically designed to fit most daily newspapers (you can also use the store bought pee pads). The paper remains under the grate, preventing your dog or puppy from shredding it.
Liquid waste is channeled through the grate to the bottom of the tray, preventing paws from coming in contact with the urine. Solid waste is disposed of by simply lifting and flipping the grate. The grate is only 3/8" deep and is easy to clean.
Unlike dog litter systems, WizDog is a simple and inexpensive product that does not require the purchase of litter refill. WizDog can be used as is, or can fit either newspaper or training pads to absorb the urine.
The WizDog tray has a smooth glossy finish for easy cleanup

Where should I place the Wizdog?
-- The WIZDOG should be placed on a smooth surface, such as the floor in the kitchen or the bathroom. Place the WIZDOG with a side against a wall, preferably not in a corner, and make sure your pet’s bedding and bowls are at least 6 ft away, as dogs do not like to eliminate near their bedding and eating areas.
What if my dog or puppy is already paper-trained?
-- If your dog or puppy is already trained to use newspapers or scented pads, you can expect immediate results. Simply place the WIZDOG tray in the same location and place newspapers or scented pads inside the tray. Do not use the grid yet. Make sure your dog or puppy gets used to the new tray for the first few sessions. After several successful sessions, simply place the WIZDOG grid on top of the newspapers or scented pad, and make sure he gets familiarized with it. Your dog or puppy can now eliminate and walk off the tray with unsoiled paws. After several successful uses, you can stop using the scented pads.
Always praise your dog or puppy after each successful use. NEVER punish him during training. Reprimanding your dog or puppy would only confuse him and delay the training process.
What if I bring a dog or puppy home for the first time?
-- If you bring a dog or a puppy home for the first time, confine him to the kitchen or a fenced-in area when not supervised. It is important not to give him the run of the house initially. Place the WIZDOG tray with the short side against a wall, and make sure your pet’s bedding and bowls are at least 6 ft away, as dogs do not eliminate near their bedding and eating areas. You can use scented pads to attract your dog or puppy to the location of the tray. We recommend the “capture” of a small amount of your dog’s urine on a paper towel in order to place the towel in the tray. This way, the scent from the paper towel will attract your dog or puppy and indicate that it is okay to have urine at that particular location indoors. Do not use the grid yet. Make sure he gets familiarized with the location and the odor, and don’t forget to give lots of praise. You may want to cover a large area under the tray with paper, and then gradually remove the paper as he learns to eliminate closer to and eventually inside the tray.
Your dog or puppy may “miss” the tray during the first few sessions. This is normal, and despite the mess left behind, you should give lots of praise while placing him on the tray. It is important that your dog or puppy associates the tray with the act of elimination, and not an act of misbehavior. Always leave a small amount of urine-scented paper towel on the tray until the training is complete (you may place the towel under a sheet of newspaper). After a dozen successful sessions, simply add the grid to the top of the tray, make sure he gets familiarized with it, and don’t forget to give lots of praise!
What if my dog is already trained to eliminate outdoors?
-- If your dog or puppy is already trained to eliminate outdoors, the training process requires a little patience. When not supervised, keep your pet and the WIZDOG in the kitchen or in a room with a fenced-in area. Make sure your pet’s bed and bowls are at least 6 ft away, as dogs do not like to eliminate near their bedding and eating areas.
You can use scented pads to attract your dog or puppy to where the tray is located. We also recommend the “capture” a small amount of urine on a paper towel in order to place it in the tray. The scent will indicate to your pet that it is okay to have urine at that particular location indoors. Do not use the grid yet. Make sure he gets familiarized with the location and the odor. Don’t forget to give lots of praise. Your dog or puppy may “miss” the tray during the first few sessions. This is normal, and despite the mess left behind, you should give lots of praise while placing him/her on the tray. It is important that your pet associates the act of elimination with the tray. You may want to place additional newspapers under the tray in case he misses. Always leave a small amount of scented paper towel on the tray until the training is complete. Constant praise is very important throughout training. After a dozen successful sessions, simply add the grid to the top of the tray, make sure he gets familiarized with it and don’t forget to give lots of praise!
Additional hints and tips.
-- If you catch your dog or puppy in the act or if you see him sniff around nervously, immediately grab his attention and place him on the WIZDOG tray while giving lots of praise. Never use punishment as it would confuse and delay the training process. Remember that puppies do not have full control until they are about 3 months old.
Note: The WIZDOG is not an appropriate alternative to taking your dog out for a walk and exercise. Please keep in mind that results may vary for each dog. However, we’ve found that the above instructions have resulted in correct use of the WIZDOG.
